Project overview

We are upgrading the gas pipes along Larkshall Road to ensure you continue to receive a reliable gas supply for many more years to come. Our aim is to replace all the metallic mains and service pipes in these locations. This means that we will need to excavate holes in the ground to access the gas pipes in order to inspect and replace them.

Due to the nature of the work involved, we have planned to deliver it in a number of phases to maximise efficiency and minimise disruption.

Phase 1: 11 – 24 July
Replace approximately 250m of existing gas pipe starting at the junction with Winchester Road.

Phase 2 : 26 July – 07 August
Replace approximately 190m of existing gas pipe from the junction with Dale View Crescent to 103 Larkshall Road. This phase will include the replacement of service pipes to 20 properties. This phase will be completed under a road closure between the junctions with Dale View Crescent and Endlebury Road.

Phase 3 : 8 – 21 August
Replace approximately 100m of existing gas pipe from 103 Larkshall Road to 95 Larkshall Road. This will include the replacement of service pipes to 6 properties. This phase will be completed under a road closure on the junction with Simmons Lane, Larkshall Road and Endlebury Road.

Phase 4: 22 August – 4 September
Replace approximately 125m of existing gas pipe from the roundabout to the junction with Fairlight Avenue. This will include the replacement of service pipes to 20 properties. This phase will be completed under a road closure from the junctions with Endlebury Road and Fairlight Avenue.

Phase 5: 5 – 18 September
Replace approximately 70m of existing gas pipe from the junction with Dale View Crescent to 157 Larkshall Road This will include the replacement of service pipes to 6 properties. This phase will be completed under multi-way temporary traffic lights.

Phase 6: 19 – 30 September
Replace approximately 140m of existing gas pipe from 157 Larkshall Road to 173 Larkshall Road. This will include the replacement of service pipes to 8 properties. This phase will be completed under multi-way temporary traffic lights.

Project updates

15 July - 11:10

Work began on Monday as planned and is progressing well. By Monday we will have replaced the first 100m of existing gas pipe and we hope to complete another 50m by this time next week.

Today we created this new website for our customers in order to help us stay in touch. As the project progresses, we will continue to publish documents and general project updates as they come along.
