Project overview
We are upgrading the gas pipes in various locations on Lymington road, David Road, Freshwater Road and Valence Avenue to ensure you continue to receive a reliable gas supply for many more years to come. Our aim is to replace all the metallic mains and service pipes in these locations. This means that we will need to excavate holes in the ground to access the gas pipes in order to inspect and replace them.
To deliver our work safely and securely, we will be using four-way traffic lights on Kemp road at the junction of Lymington Road. There will also be three-way traffic lights on the junction of Freshwater Road and Lymington Road. Lanes will be impacted at the existing four-way lights on Valence Avenue.

PROJECT UPDATES
20 September – 16:00
The final phase of engineering works is due to be completed on Wednesday. Any customers affected by this work have been notified.
Reinstatement work will be completed early next week. We will keep you updated on progress, please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
14 September - 16:40
We are continuing work along the final phase of the project as planned towards to junction with Freshwater Road. Once the engineering work is complete, the final phase of reinstatement will begin. We will keep you updated on progress.
10 September - 15:30
The second phase of engineering work up to the junction of Kemp Road is now complete. Reinstatement work will begin next week.
The final phase of the project will start on Monday. The team will be working up to the junction with Freshwater Road. Any customers affected by this work have been notified.
31 August - 16:00
The first phase of engineering work is now complete and reinstatement work began on Monday, we expect this to be complete by Friday.
25 August – 15:10
Prepatory work began on site on 23 August. A 100m section of new gas pipe will be inserted into the existing main by the end of this week. Customers affected by this work have been notified.
Four-way traffic lights will be in place on junction of Kemp Road within the coming weeks. We will advise on dates once they have been confirmed.
