Project overview
We are upgrading the gas pipes along Whitmore Road to ensure you continue to receive a reliable gas supply for many more years to come. Our aim is to replace all the metallic mains and service pipes in these locations. This means that we will need to excavate holes in the ground to access the gas pipes in order to inspect and replace them.
Due to the nature of the work involved, we have planned to deliver it in a number of phases to maximise efficiency and minimise disruption.

Project updates
2 February - 15:25
Phase 5 of work is complete and the team has been working on phase 6 of the project this week, they are due to finish engineering work on this section today. Work to reinstate the area will follow.
Once complete, the lane closure in place will move along to cover the next two phases of the project.
Work on phase 7 will begin on Monday, any customers affected by this work will have been notified.
17 January - 14:00
Phases 1 – 3 of work are now complete and the team is working on phase 4. The team plan to complete engineering work on the current section on Friday 19 January.
The lane closure will be in place throughout phase 4 and phase 6 but will not be required during phase 5.
Work on phase 5 will begin on Monday 22 January. Any customers affected during this phase will be contacted prior to any works being carried out.
